Card for my Mother's 89th Birthday

Front of Card

Inside of Card

Those of you who know my Mother, you are very aware that she loves anything and everything Oriental!  It's been that way forever!  I made her a special card for her 89th birthday, pictured above.  I heat-embossed the elegant design on black cardstock with gold powder and framed it with a turquoise cardstock so it would really stand out.  I found some gorgeous new oriental cardstock papers at the local scrapbook store which I pieced together for the background.  I used one of the black-gold papers and scored it into a fan and tied it with gold metallic thread.  The word "mother" is from a KCompany sticker sheet that fit the color scheme perfectly!

The inside of the card needed to be elegant to match the front, so I used a border punch and added two black borders along the vertical sides of the inside verse.  I printed the verse on a gold-tone paper so it would once again reflect the colors and elegance of the front of the card.

Needless to say, my mother loved the card!!!

What are your thoughts???!!!
